COMMUNITY ORGANIZING

  • 1976-8 Founding member, Activist with US-China People's Friendship Assoc., San Luis Obispo, CA chapter
  • 1977-8 Founding member, Activist with "Alternatives in Agriculture", sustainable agriculture promotion an on-campus organization at Cal-Poly State Univ, San Luis Obispo
  • 1978-80 Study of community organizing with "Allianza Juvenile para el Desarrollo Comunitario" working with Agricultural Cooperatives in El Quiche, Guatemala, "Christian-base Communities"
  • 1980-82 Founding member, Activist with Central America Study and Solidarity, an on-campus organization at Cal-Poly State Univ, San Luis Obispo. a chapter of CISPES (US National Organization)
  • 1982-87 Activist with People's Alliance on Central America, an on-campus organization at Univ of Ill, C-U a chapter of CISPES US National Organization
  • 1983-87 Co-founder, bi-weekly host/producer of "Window on the World" 2 hour radio show on WEFT, community radio. Show was on foreign policy and third world affairs
  • 1987-89 Activist with HAP-Nica, Agricultural Cooperative Support to Nicaragua an on-campus organization University of California, Davis
  • 1997- present   Activist, webmaster and officer of the North Carolina Committee to Defend Health Care, Educational 501c3 non-profit working to promote the concept of "The Right to Health Care" and the implementation of universal health care in North Carolina.
  • 1998- present  Executive Director of Project EINO, the only project in the country committed primarily to support and encourage the autonomous state organizations which are working towards recognition of the "Right to Health Care". This includes the first 18 months during which the project ran at DefendHealthCare.org administered by the Massachussetts Committee to Defend Health Care.

HEALTH POLICY -  PROJECT EINO

  • October 1997 - July 2001   Webmaster and Editor for national website Defend Health Care. This website was administered by the Massachussetts Ad Hoc Committee to Defend Health Care (Boston office).  The website was abandoned (off-line) July 2001, when all operations moved to EverybodyInNobodyOut.org. The Boston office had no remaining interest in the national website. Project EINO remains on a very friendly basis with officers and staff of the Massachussetts committee.
  • April 2001 to present - Executive Director of Project EINO.  Editor-In-Chief and webmaster for the EINO website. Chief organizer of Project EINO's effort to strengthen existing, and promote formation of new state organizations for universal health care.  See specific achievements of Project EINO. 
  • June 1999 to present - Officer of the North Carolina Committe to Defend Health Care.  Public speaking for NC-CDHC, coordination of application for tax-exempt status, accounts, coordination of summer intern program and webmaster.
  • Feb 2000 to present - Office Manager for Adult Medicine & Lymphedema Consults, P.A., Durham, North Carolina.  Webmaster for the Lymflo Therapies, a health care clinic specializing in the treatment of patients suffering with lymphedema. 


  • July 2003 to present - Direction and development of the "Right to Health Care" as a second website for Project EINO focused on the human rights aspect of universal health care.  The website was launched in Sept of 2003 and during the first year a great deal of work was put into making this the premiere source of information on the legal, historic, philosophical and current political aspects of the "Right to Health Care'.


  • Throughout 2004 a great deal of time was spent also on making new connections to organizations working in the human rights arena. This included international organizations working on the "Right to Health".
